The Editorial Board, Publishing Board, Advisory Board, authors, and reviewers of RoMAya Journal are committed to preventing misconduct in publishing by adhering to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing established by organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), ensuring compliance with academic and ethical standards.

Open Access

RoMAya Journal is committed to the principle of open access. Every article is accessible in full text on the journal’s website without any restrictions or delay from the date of publication.

Objectivity

Articles are evaluated solely on their academic and scientific content, without consideration of the author(s)’ sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy. Personal criticism of the author(s) is deemed inappropriate.

Reviewers must consult the editor before agreeing to review a manuscript if they have any potential conflict of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves presenting another’s work as one’s own, copying another’s work verbatim or in modified form without citation, and claiming ownership of research results produced by others. Plagiarism, in any form, is unethical and unacceptable.

The journal enforces a strict plagiarism policy. The Editorial Board screens manuscripts with plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin, and the Editorial, Publishing, and Advisory Boards promptly investigate all allegations of scientific misconduct, especially plagiarism.

Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or other relationships that could be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their work.

Confidentiality

The journal is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and prohibits the use of information obtained through the peer-review process for personal gain. Unless otherwise agreed with the authors and reviewers, the Editorial, Publishing, and Advisory Boards guarantee the confidentiality of all submitted materials and all correspondence with reviewers.

Reports or information about manuscripts are not shared with others. Reviewers may not communicate directly with authors without written permission from the Editorial Board.

Manuscript Evaluation

1Preliminary review of the submission
2Section editors score the study out of 200 points using the section editor evaluation form
3Studies scoring 150 or higher proceed to peer review
4Evaluation by at least two independent external reviewers under double-blind peer review

Additional details regarding the process can be found in the Author Guidelines.

Post-Publication Corrections and Retractions

If a serious error or ethical violation is detected in a published article, the journal will issue a correction (corrigendum), retraction, or expression of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Authorship Criteria (ICMJE)

Authorship is based on the four criteria defined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE):

1Substantial contributions to the work
2Drafting or revising the manuscript
3Final approval of the version to be published
4Accountability for all aspects of the work

Each author’s contributions must be clearly specified (the CRediT taxonomy is recommended).

Human Participants

In studies involving human participants, in addition to ethics committee approval, written informed consent must be obtained from participants and the confidentiality of their identities must be maintained. This information should be clearly stated in the methods section.

Animal Experiments

All studies involving animals must obtain approval from the relevant national or international ethics committees, and this must be declared in the manuscript.

Ethical Guidelines and Standards

The journal adheres strictly to the publishing ethics principles defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and rigorously applies these standards to maintain the integrity of scientific publishing.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

RoMAya Journal permits the limited and transparent use of AI-assisted tools in academic writing and research processes.

✓ PermittedLanguage editing, proofreading, formatting, or other technical assistance.
✗ Not permittedGenerating scientific content, conducting data analysis, interpreting results, or replacing academic judgment.

Authors must clearly and accurately disclose any use of AI-assisted tools through the journal’s Artificial Intelligence Declaration Form. Use beyond the declared purposes, incomplete or misleading disclosure, or AI use that violates ethical standards is considered a breach of publication ethics.

Any ethical, scientific, or legal consequences of improper or undisclosed AI use rest solely with the authors. The journal reserves the right to terminate the review process, reject submissions, retract published articles, and notify relevant institutions when necessary.
